Front Diff Removal Problems - Suggestions
Hello Everyone,
I'm trying to change out the front diff. I want to do it right and actually pull off the front diff cover. However I'm having problems getting to the top center bolt and the bolt to the right of it. I think the sway/control arm is blocking me. I tried using my universal joint set for the 3/8 with extension and the 1/2 with extension. I can't seem to get in there. I can partly seat the 3/8 but it slips off. The nut is not rounded and there is no grease on it. I have some photos below. I also moved the plastic flap and tried from coming down above the flap and still can't get it on there with the 3/8 or 1/2". I don't think I can get a wrench up there (haven't tried).
I'm want to hear all suggestions.

The photo below, shows multiple bolts. The top bolt you see is actually the first bolt to the right. I can't get to it.

Lift the jeep. Place jack stands under the unibody "2 on each side for safty". Then let the front end hang down. Should give you a little more clearence. You can also try using a wrench if a socket dont fit. The bolt is probably metric. between 10mm and 13mm

That is the track bar in your way. As said before you need to jack the rig up and let the axel hang down to clear the bolts on the cover. I wouldn't mess with the trackbar UNLESS youplan to replace it also.
