Front bumper fab
 

Looking to make a front bumper for my xj. Any suggestions, hints, etc.?

Start with a good solid mounting point. I used a section of 6" c-channel and ran it back 18" on the unibody.

Doubles as a power steering box brace.

Makes a solid mount, and a good start for a bumper and or pull point.

Then remember to measure several times before you cut. Posterboard is nice to use for a template to find where you want to drill holes, or just to make a general mock up.

X2 on the mounting points. like xjthing said. make sure it is good and soild, other wise you'll be putting it back on after the first time you have to get pulled out.

Sounds good. You guys wouldn't happen to know any build threads on here I could take a look at to give a little direction/inspiration? I couldn't find any.
