I've researched this site and still have a few questions about bumper building. How should I plan for a winch mount? how do I maximize departure and entry angles? what size plating should I use for the base? What tubing should I use to protect my grill? I need deer protection.

I used 14 gauge sm skinned over a tubed frame, it worked but isn't very reliable. So i moved to 1/4" plate which is strong as an ox but cost me a lot to have cut. I also used my mounts to strenghten my frame around my steering box and extended back about 12" w/ 1/2" plate that is also my recovery points. ill post some pics tomorrw.
