Frame rail????
When I put on my new bummpers I used the factory mounting locations. I am now thinking of putting on some rocker rails and I was wondering how to mount them. Do I need to install a bolt plate or reinforce the frame or can it be done with self tappers and no modification to the frame?

Depends on the rock rails. As far as I know most require drilling mount hose and bolting them directly to the frame rail.
Are these rails some you are making or some you bought? If you bought them they should have mounting directions for that specific application.
Also a note on your bumpers..If you mounted them directly to the factory mounts then do not and I stress do not use them as recovery points as the factory mounts are not strong enough and not tied into the frame itself. You didn't mention that you tied them into the frame rails so I just wanted to warn you.

Yeah the reason that I asked is that I am building my own rock rails and was just trying to figure out how to mount them. And no I do not use my bumpers as a recovery point I installed hooks for recovery as my jeep is a fishing wagon and the only off roading I do is to get to the good spots.

goto jcroffroad.com and look at theirs. I personally think they are some of the best I have seen. They should have directions posted and plenty of pics to get an idea.
