LS motors are great! Altho, unless the LS motor was cheap, I woould go with a LQ4/9 6.0L truck motor (cast iron block vs alum) and do a LS intake swap on it. If/when my 4.0L dies and I decide not to build a stroker out of it. An LSx motor is going in!

a while back someone had a v8 swap thread here asking what engine to use and I said Ls1. Seeing this makes me wish I had a couple grand lying around...

Its funny that you say that because I have spent weeks figuring everything out for the conversion to do it in my xj, the aluminum LS is almost 100 pounds lighter than the stock 4.0 and the cast iron LQ9 is ten pounds heavier. So you add ten pounds and double the horsepower and torque....sounds good to me. Throw the 4L60E with a shift kit and some upgrades behind it and a nice gear to gear t-case, you have yourself one hell of a ride.

Novak-adapt.com <--almost everything you need.

Dont forget to add a 9" rear or 1tons front and rear.. dont think a stock turdy 5 could handle the power of a LS..
