Forum Guru's - recommendations on O2 sensors please
Continuing with my "remove and replace with better stuff" project, I picked up a direct fit Magnaflow cat yesterday.
Now, do I need to also get new O2 sensors or can I use my current sensors as long as they aren't cooked? And if I need new, what do you guys recommend?
I've bought from a place called Auto Medic in the past. He sells I believe Walker and AC Delco sensors, both shipped for like $90.
Or do you guys suggest Bosch?
Thanks.

modern O2 sensors usually only go bad when they get oil or gas deposits on them
the older heated ones did wear out alot, but the newer ones are good
as far as o2s, I dont really like Bosch, I havent had good luck with them

I like the above post showing condition of oxygen sensor.
But oxygen sensor also have a finite lifespan of between 100k - 150k (usually) depending on engine efficiency.
Therefore, if you have this amount of mileage on these sensors and you intend to keep the vehicle, I'd spring for new ones. Personally, I like Bosch and NTK oxygen sensors. Do not EVER buy a universal sensor or any ebay sensor that you can't confirm a brand name.

I can honestly say I have never had to change the downstream O2 sensor on any Jeep, ever, and I've only replaced my upstream one on my '98 twice in it's entire life. As for my O2 sensors, the stores around me always have Bosch in stock, so that's what I get. And pay the Extra $ for the plug & go connectors and don't waste time with the universal fit sensors.

My experience with aftermarket sensors has been less than encouraging. They never worked for me either in my XJ, ZJ or Dodge. I get all my sensors from the stealership now ... pricey, yes, but I only have to buy a sensor once.
