I put an amc 5.9 in mine and I have to say anything is posible with patience and a big enough hamer. Be ready to build cusome motor and trans mounts. I couldnt find any adapters for mine. I also had to lift mine because the bigger engine sits pretty low in the compartment but with some planning you might avoid that or just lift it anyway, Imean hay if your gonna biuld it build it right. I also had to cut out the crossmember in the front to make room for a radiator and ended up welding on a solid front bumper to replace the crossmember. It takes alot of fab work to get it done but I think its going to be worth it when im done.

Is it a 360 ford? Im not sure what a 5.9 is. I would go with a fuel injected 302. Smaller engine to work with but plenty of power. i done lots of work on 302's. The possibilities are endless in a jeep.

360 would be 5.9l(roughly).. and he could actually mean 360 Ford.. It would be one of the stranger swaps out there.. but anything is doable with enough time and money...

You might want to have a fab shop close by. Anything can be done tho. Would like to see the process if you plan on doing it. Take pics.
