I am overhauling my entire cooling system and I have a question that I couldn't find in my searches.
New Motor Mounts, flowkooler pump, mishimoto rad & hoses, bored out t-housing, mopar clutch fan & sensor aaand currently the whole system is out. I flushed the heater core & block but only with a hose.
As I'm cleaning the gasket surfaces, I realized there's a lot of rust and crud still stuck to the block. I should have used a flush but forgot.
Question, do I put the old components back in to drive & flush or put the new one's in??

I bought a sump pump from HD and setup a recirc system using a 5 gallon bucket. I flushed until the water was almost clear. The flush chemicals are meant to be used with a running motor and several hours of driving. If you make a recirc system, you could include a flush chemical in the water and run the engine to ~100 degrees.
Mishimoto XJ radiators are known for clogging on corrosion debris. I recommend returning it and going with a Spectra Premium single row. There are increasing numbers of people finding that the Spectra radiator is as good or better than any of the high dollar radiators.

Put the new components in no point reinstalling old parts just to flush. Run a proper chemical flush like Prestone or Thermocure with distilled water, then drain and refill with fresh coolant. The new system will handle it fine, and you won’t risk contaminating the fresh parts with old gunk. Just flush thoroughly before final fill.

The sump pump is a Wayne Waterbug. Fits nicely in a 5-gal bucket. I made a 6" tall pedestal for the pump so that the pump didn't sit at the very bottom of the bucket where big debris accumulates. I made adapters to connect the the Waterbug garden hose thread outlet to the old radiator hose going into the block, and then adapted the radiator hose coming off the tstat housing to dump into the bucket. The tstat was removed for the flush. I flushed in both directions typically until the water looked ugly. I'd dump that water, add new water, and then run again. I think the final runs were at least an hour long. You might consider looping our heater core out of the circuit while doing this because debris may accumulate inside it.
