Floor Pan Rust!
Well, after owning a Cherokee for a few days I found this.
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...a7248f47f.jpeg Kind of hard to tell from crappy cell phone pic but that is asphalt that you can see through a hole in the passenger side floorboard. Already knew that the transmission was coming out to repair a leaking freeze plug so at least doing both of these at the same time will make life easier.. |
After several hours o work I have this.
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...48bdd690f.jpeg Factory spot welds were removed on three sides and a cut was made down the tunnel to remove old pans with all the rot. |
New pans welded in.
https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...15ea2e92c.jpeg Next up will be installing the seat bracket. The old one had a few issues. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...47622f35e.jpeg |
Where did you get the floor pans from and how much did they cost?
I know there is many places to get them but fit i know can sometimes be way off and we all know when they fit better it makes our lives much easier haha |
I ordered them online from Raybuck. The fit was perfect and they use the thicker, 18 gauge metal.

Nice work, Capital G. I like it.
