Fixin up my ole XJ

I have a 2000 Cherokee sport, she's getting a little old (like me) and needs some work.
1, The 4WD selector feels a little flaky when going into 4-Wheel drive, like it wants to jump back out.
2, The front left has a horrible "KLUNK" anytime I hit a bump, even a small hole in the road etc. and can be felt in the steering wheel. Feels like the front end is going to fall out..
3, I'm thinking I just need to rebuild/update the whole front suspension system.
What are some good sources for the parts and components for the front end ??
I have seen front end rebuild kits that included all new neoprene bushing etc. But don't remember where it was...

Help with a parts list of what should be replaced ??

Have a look at motor mounts too. If motor mounts and/or the trans mount are shot, it can throw off the alignment of the xfer case lever too. You might very well need to replace all the rubber up front, but I prefer to inspect and see what needs replacing instead of blindly shotgunning parts.

Check the bushing on the end of the t/case shifter torque shaft where it connects to the frame. It may have come out of it's socket.

THANKS GUYS !!!

This Saturday my grandson and i are going to get her on some jack stands and crawl around a little bit under her. We
will check all the rubber for sure..

Who are some of your favorite suppliers for parts ??

Rock Auto parts is hard to beat for selection and different levels of quality. Just have to kind of watch the shipping rates.

I have been rebuilding the front end on my 2000 this week and pretty much replacing everything except for the axle joints and wheel hubs (did that one last year). I went with all Moog parts and MOST came from Amazon (cheapest prices plus I get free shipping due to prime member) but the upper control arms came from rockauto. Oh might be a good idea to go ahead and get new bolts also. The only ones on mine that did not break (yes I used penetrating oil and heat) was the swaybar mounting bolts and 1 lower control arm bolt and 2 upper control arm bolt.

for anyone rebuilding their front end, or refreshening any suspension components I'd highly suggest snagging @Tubur 's hardware kits.
They've been a life saver, and a huge time saver, for me. When things go wrong, which they often do with these vehicles when working on them I felt very fortunate that one less thing I had to worry about was matching or finding hardware.

I ended up getting his Master Kit- even though I originally thought "i'll never need "X", I don plan on changing out "y", well I can tell you i'm glad I went with the full kit.

The LH motor mount and trans mount are deadset certs for replacement,(dont buy cheap ones), swaybar bushes too

I would inspect the front end properly before ordering any parts, they are surprisingly tough, and it maybe almost nothing needs replacing

I might add check the lower coil spring seats. My WJ had a problem with the internal flange that keeps the spring centered in it's pocket had rusted away and allowed the spring to shift around. IDK if XJs has this same flange, but a short piece of heavy gauge exhaust tubing welled to the perch cured the problem. It made that distinct "KLONK" sound sometimes when cornering. The spring was rubbing on the swaybar link also.
