Mine installed easily from the top with a long 1/4 in punch and a small brass hammer. I didn't have to remove mine as it was missing, but I wouldn't think it would be any harder to remove. Your local dealer might have replacements.

You can pull the check arm out of the door with pliers.

I just did mine about 10 minutes ago, never thought to take pictures.
The popping comes from the pin snapping back and forth in the bracket, not from the spring latch itself.
Use a small hammer and tap the pin out from the bottom up on both driver side doors.
Then remove the 2x 10mm bolts and swap the bracket front to rear
Reinstall pin and tap into place.
Now your driver's door doesn't pop. the drawback is now the rear door does. lol

I like the bolt idea... thats free! I did look at quadratec... 5.99 plus 2 bucks to ship. Has anyone put a bolt there and it stopped the popping? What size did you use?

If you still have noise after replacing the check pin, either the bracket holes or check arm hole is worn oversize.------------GeezerD

RockAuto.com pry has the parts nice and inexpensively too. This was good info, I've been living with that annoying pop for a long time. Might try to fix it now, myself
