first third and fourth cylinder misfire?

My xj started misfiring and I can't get it to run correctly. I changed the rotar and distributer cap as well as three plugs in question and its still running horribly. I'm getting about ten miles a gallon. Could it be my distributor?

Why did you only change 3 of the 6 spark plugs?? I would change the plug wires too if you already havnt done so. I would also make sure your injectors are working too. Have you replaced your O2 sensors ever?? Good Luck!!

Let's start with your tuneup strategy.

You changed the rotor and distributor cap which is good.

What do you mean by " I changed three dorm plugs".

To complete your tuneup, you need 6 fresh gapped Champion copper plugs and new plug wires.
Then see where you are at.

Chasing misfires without having fresh tuneup hardware often leads to the chasing of ones tail.

I did a tune up a few months ago and my jeep had been running great. I made this post originally off of my phone, sorry about the misspelling. Either way, One morning my jeep just began idling funny, almost as if 4low was engaged. I went ahead and just changed out these parts as a quick test but i also noticed the plugs as well as the cap looked fine. The rotar on the other hand looked a bit rough. Thats why I was wondering if my distributor may be going bad. How would I know if it is? What do I check for?
