Finding water on the floor?
 

Just recently rained for the first time this year and I noticed a decent amount of water had leaked into the cab of my Comanche. The weather stripping has seen better days but it was not wet around the door/window of the truck. Im wondering if it is getting in through the firewall after leaking through the top of the hood? any ideas?

oh no gonna have to sell it to me its broke..lol... id get the old trusy garedn hose mine will leak around the weater stripping in good down pours i adjusted the doors a little tigher to the body and seemed to cure it

Haha for the right price it's yours. I'm gonna go at it tomorrow with the hose tomorrow to see if I can find where its coming in. good call.

Could also be coming in around the fuse box if it is good luck my 91 cherokee has that problem its a pain to try to seal it up

Drivers or passengers side? the radio antenna if it's on the passengers side and I'd agree the fuse block is a good place to start looking if its drivers side

Its leaking on the passenger side. I'll check the fuse box.

This is usually caused by the seal around your windshield. On the XJ or MJ, since the unibody alows the whole vehicle to flex and twist, the seal around the windshield is commonly broken and it leaves space for water to get in. This is the case on mine, as well as many of my friends' Jeeps. One friend did get it re-sealed and it fixed the problem. We just had a two-day non-stop rainstorm here which is crazy unusual for utah. But it left about two inches only on my passenger side floor. Of water. Where i was so lucky enough to leave my backpack full of all my books. Which are now soaked and ruined. :thumbup: Haha so look into that seal! That's usually the case!

Well I did some exploring of the inside and outside of the Comanche and found that there is some sort of tube that is clearly meant to take any fluid out of the dash from the AC and anything else and filter it out through the firewall. There was no tube at all. Just a hole in the firewall and a gap missing that was letting water drain inside. I got the replacement tube at the junk yard and the rubber grommet I found I bought to fill the hole. I'm not sure if this will fix the problem all together but it should help. Its not letting me upload the picture but I will try later.
