Fan issues on an 89 grand cherokee
Just got the car in a trade and the fan is directly hooked up to the battery. Where exactlly do I run the wires for it to run properly by itself when its supposed to run.
Right now I have to manually disconnect it from the battery when we stop.
cheers

Do you hear banjos?
You can't have an 89 Grand Cherokee, they didn't make the GC until 1993, so we will clarification on what exactly it is that you are dealing with in order to try and help, thanks!!

why would you wanna do that?? its easier just to keep it on a switch so when your in traffic or whatever and it starts to get warm flip the switch... unless you want it all "stock" or some junk than its all good buddy

i guess switch does make more sense. just thought to be hassle free as I won't be the only one driving it...its my first 4x4 and it will be tested to the limit...but my lil sis in law will be driving it occassionally as i have an everyday driver...
that being said..im still considering if I should keep it...seems to run fine..
a bit of damage to the fins on the rad where the mechanical fan is
also, seems to have issue shifting between 2wd and 4wd
starts to jerk alot before it settles..takes awhile..(transfer case issue?) I am new to this so i might sound dumb but i do appreciate the help..I am mechanically inclined just dont know much about this,, more of a body guy
thank you in advance

I'd agree with the comments about putting it on a switch. If yours is an '89 Cherokee Limited then it may be the same set up as my '88 Limited...it has an engine driven fan & an electric one.
