Factory fog lights to stay on with high beams

I have a 95 xj sport and trying to figure out how to get my fog lights to stay on when I turn the brights on... Help Please

They are wired to a relay that turns them off when the high beams are on. There really isn't a good reason to have fog lights on with high beams since they really don't project far in front of the vehicle.

I mounted a pair of PIAA 520ATPs and aimed them to coincide with my lows. They make a huge difference with the lows and provide excellent fill lighting with my highs. For my state, they are not wired legally for public road use. Much of my night time driving is in rural areas with lots of deer, so I use my auxiliary lights with discretion.

I saw it somewhere that for that to work you had to bend the fuse I think. Not sure though.

Ya all my night time driving is in very rural areas also... My town has like 500 people max on a good day lol.. Not a street light in any direction within 20 miles so I want all the light I can get... Just trying to figure out where this relay is... I've been told I've gotta bend a prong on it just need to know which one and where and I plan on upgrading them very soon

You have to bend one of the prong on the relay ....... its somewhere in advanced tech I think. Not under that title though.

On my 98 you would just make a jumper wire, and plug it in place of the relay. That way you can plug it back in for inspection. It is in the fuse block under the hood. On a normal aftermarket relay it would be between #30 & #87. There is a write up on it here some place. Mine didn't come with fogs, but I wired them up when I built the headlight harness. It is nice to have them on with the high beams, because they fill in the space right in front that the highs miss. I just put my covers on for inspection.

Ya I can find it on the 97 and newer but not for the 95, guess I'll go to the wiring diagram

Slick761 08-02-2011 10:39 AM

Simple really by the diagram you just have to snip one wire under the dash and run it Hot to key.

So it's not as easy as the 97 and newer xj's.

I did this to one of the TJs I had years back. I don't exactly remember how but I know I had to take the relay apart. Im trying to remember how so I can do it to an 01 XJ I just bought.

I think this is what you guys are wanting. If not I know I seen something recently when looking for my upgrade harness problem, think it is in mod forum.
