Factory fog light switch
I'm trying to add fog lights to my '87 Cherokee Laredo. I picked up a couple of factory switches from the bone yard. My jeep has a plug that matches the switch under the dash. It is a three terminal plug with green, green, and black wires. It doesn't have any power to it. All fuses are good. I don't have any plugs behind the grill. I can't find a relay under the hood that looks like it is for fog lights. So, I decided to just run all the wires myself. The problem is, I don't understand the three terminal switch. The switch that I got from the junk yard has light blue, brown/white, and double black wires coming out of it. I have a 30a relay and a fuse holder. Can anyone explain the terminals to me?

To be honest with you we arent going to much of any help. Switches are made differently so if you arent able to obtain a data sheet, then you gotta troubleshoot it.
Do you have a DMM (digital multimeter)?

See? Lots of variables, do a search on "fog lights" & see what pops up.
Thanks guys. I figured it out. I figured the middle terminal had to be for power in. So, I jumpered it to my battery and used my test light as a load to check the top and bottom terminals. The top terminal needs to go to ground for the switch indicator light. The bottom terminal goes to the device. In this case it's a relay. I just ran my own wires. Works great. I'll try and post some pics when I get time.
