Extended idle stopped working, and more!
SO... I finally got around to replacing the leaking power steering pressure line. Got it taken care of. Thought to myself, 'now lets take care of the mess that has accumulated'. I wanted it gone. out came the degreaser and hose. All clean. Problem is. went to start it. and got the code for the TPS and one for the transmission. P0123 and P0122 i believe. can't remember now. so I popped in a known working TPS and the code stayed gone. Went and bought myself a new TPS, cleared the code again. Everything is right as rain. I was wrong. Now I'm getting a high idle while in drive, and neutral after warm, and have noticed my Extended idle switch will not work at any time. WTF? ... No codes, just acting stupid... Anyone ever have this issue, or can offer some insight?

I had a very similar issue. One of the boots on the plug that goes into my computer was messed up and it got water in it. Chased the problem for 2 days. Unplugged them, dried them all out, greased them up and problem solved. You may have also killed your IAC motor. The TPS and IAC hate water.
Also, don't buy box store IAC's or TPS. They are junk, even right out of the box. Spring for OEM parts from the dealership and save yourself some heartache.

I unhooked the battery to reset the PCM as well, but haven't tested yet. I'll unplug all the PCM connectors and dry them out this weekend. any other ideas?

so I hooked my battery back up, and blew out/dielectric greased the PCM plugs, started it up, and thought, wow that idle is still high... got in, my extended idle switch was on, turned it off, and idles down where it was meant to. Problem solved.
Then I went to replace the hood light bulb. The bulb was broken, and actually shorted out on the brass switch inside when i tried to get it out. So now I have no dash gauges... but whatever, ill replace the fuse tomorrow. Just happy it idles and everything works.
