Default Equipment levels in different markets

Good day to all,

I have recently started my quest for a 4x4, and the XJ is one of the vehicles I am interested in.

Yesterday I did a test drive in a 1997 Cherokee Limited 4.0 Auto, which seemed to be in very good nick. I was somewhat puzzled, however, by the goodies this car did (not) have.

It has the "Limited" sticker on the front doors, the fake wood applications on the dash and door panels, the trip computer and cruise control. It also has the SelecTrac transfer box. On the other hand, I was under the impression that the Limited has leather seats and electric fore/aft and upward/downward adjustment, but this car doesn't have these features.

Is there any information available on equipment levels in The Netherlands, or is it somehow possible to get such information using the VIN number?

I have a 1999 German brochure which lists leather and electric seat adjustment as standard equipment, but obviously things may have been different for cars sold in The Netherlands.

Just trying to establish whether this vehicle hasn't been tampered with too much. Thanks for your replies!

Regards,
Frans

http://www.jeep.com/webselfservice/jeep/index.html

Click "equipment listing" on the left sidebar

Enter your VIN

Not sure if that works over there but worth a shot

Thanks, I'll see if I can get the VIN and give it a try.
