Engine Temp Light
94 XJ SE 4.0 AWD 139k
Recently went on a camping trip and drove fine with no issues. Got home, replace temp sending unit and valve cover gasket together in one job. In process had to remove upper radiator hose so valve cover could sit correctly. Lost some coolant in process. When the light originally came on, thought air might have gotten trapped, so I burped the system. Light still on. Tried resetting ECU, same result.
I know my coolant sensors could be source, but sending unit (one that goes near firewall) is brand new and CTS is less than year old.
Is there anything else I could check? Both clutch fan and electric fan work fine.
Any responses would be very appreciated.

If you didn't have this issue before you replaced that temp sending unit, then that new sensor could be DOA.
DOA parts (especially electrical) happens more than you think. Test it or replace it under warranty.

If possible it's best to go with OEM MOPAR sensors since they seem to be of closer tolerances and better quality. Since I was making an order from Rock Auto I bought a "Standard" brand sensor and have had no problem.

Switched out sensors and now light's off. BWD part # WT428 from O'Reillys. Thanks for pointing me in right direction, Earl
