Very sorry to add yet another no bus thread to the stockpile - but I haven't found anything on this specific issue.
So, it's a pretty typical no bus situation - 98 classic 4.0, all gauges out when I bought it over the summer, airbag light on. However, when it started to cool down for the winter my gauges started coming in more regularly. It's always right when I start the car and the engine is cool. 100% gauges working perfectly, no warning lights. Then, as the engine begins to warm up, about 5-10 mins into the drive, I watch the temp gauge and when it hits 200-210, airbag light comes on and all gauges die and stay out for the rest of the drive. Often if I'm making short trips and engine stays warm, gauges won't come in on start up like they do when cool. I don't have reason to believe the engine is actually overheating, because I haven't had any other issues and usually warning lights work even though gauges don't. Back in summer when gauges never came in, I tried some of the easier solves recommended in the no bus threads like cleaning contacts, checking fuses, cleaning grounds - to no avail. There's still some grounds left to clean and haven't tried the TSB or anything but this engine temp correlation has me stumped. I basically know nothing about electrical, so I'm not even sure where to start. Any ideas?
