Engine swap questions.
I have an '89 XJ with a 4.0 in it. I have another 4.0 out of a '92. I guess this one is the H.O.? Anyways, I know that the head is different, perhaps the intake and exhaust manifolds too?
What compatibility issues will I be running into?
Key ones:
Flexplate
Water pump
Alternator
A/C
Throttle body (harness connectors)
EGR
Also, I'm doing a bit of work on this '92 motor before I put it in, what problems should I be looking for? I'm going to do the headgasket/intake/exhaust, rear main seal, oil pump, oil pan gasket.

If you search this has been covered several times in the past.
Biggest issue is the knock sensor, i dont know where you would put it on the HO block. maybe drill out and tap a random hole for it

The H.O. doesn't have a knock sensor?
I've been doing some searching around and I noticed this on my spare;
The throttle body harness has two connectors on this motor.
Is this a renix-specific thing or does the H.O. have this too?
I realise that the second connector goes to the trans.

reuse the intake because the throttle bodies don't match up ports?
reuse the exhaust manifold because it doesn't line up with the old exhaust?
Is this the reasoning?
I would much prefer to use the intake/exhaust manifolds from the H.O. if they flow better.
