i posted this a couple days ago but i dont think it got posted ....I recently overheated my xj and now its runnig a lil rough. I changed my plugs they looked fried and its a lil better but still rough. Almost sounds like when you have a little bit of moisture in the distributor cap. Just wonderig what might be wrong

 

Are you absolutely sure you got the plug wires back on the right plugs?

 

yea i did one at a time. i put some block sealer in just in case i cracked the head gasket. the oil wasnt bubbly or milky just lookded like it got really hot. im changing it today. im think i might of burnt up my coil maybe.

 

Have you tried a compression or leak down test on your cylinders/valves? Maybe you have low compression in one of your cylinders due to faulty rings or a burnt valve from the over heating.

 

i now know also that when i wash the engine it wont start after that. it misses a lil now to and boggs down.
