I think i may need a rebuild. I am not jumping the gun, i still have many things to check, i just want to have a resource so that if i do need to have it rebuilt, i know where to go.
Where is a good shop in the philadelphia area that does Jeep engine work, and wont charge me so much that i need to hand over my soul and the deed to my house.
I am in South Philadelphia, and am willing to travel to northeast philly, or even Jersey.
I heard amazing things about "No Excuses Jeep" in New Egypt, but do they do engine work? They are a reasonable distance from me. Any other opinions?

No Excuses does not rebuild engines there, although i'm sure Jack can aquire one.
Jasper has a hub here in Bristol, i'v used them in the past and been happy.
What year is your Jeep?

It is a 1998. 4.0 with about 140,000 on it. I spoke with No Excuses and was informed that they only do remans from jasper like you said. I would deffinitely trust that, but it is far out of my price range $2200 engine plus $1200 labor equals 3200.
