Engine noise and heat in cabin?

Okay guys. Im experiencing a noise coming from engine bay, drivers side in my 01 cherokee. It's almost as if there is a hole or the heat is blowing by my feet. Louder with speed/wind. Also experiencing a high amount of heat near my feet and legs. Not near transmission tunnel nor transfer case but at around the same area the noise i suspect is coming from. Bad water pump? vacuum leak? I can't pin point it

Thanks! :sweatdrop:

see and rust holes in the floor or firewall? What kind of noise? And check to see if the heat air isn't coming out of the footwell lower blower air vents as well.

Have you slid up under there and looked to see if there's a hole in your floorboard? While you're under there, also take a look at your exhaust downpipe, the collector where the two pipes go into one and the connection where the downpipes bolt to the crossover pipe. The routing of the exhaust takes it right near your feet, and either a hole in your floorboard or a hole in your exhaust might cause something similar to what you describe. You might also start the Jeep and then *carefully* slide up under there while it's running to listen for an exhaust leak.

well here's an update:

Before I drove to work I decided to take a closer look. It was dark so I figured I would see if any lights get through from the engine bay into the cabin if I flashed it.

Found this

Seemed like a nice gap for heat to come through, and I was right
**this is after I pushed it back into place**

Still trying to figure out where and what the noise is coming from.

Thanks for the reply and suggestions guys. I will update you if I find anything else.

If anyone has anymore suggestions on where the noise can be coming from, Please reply.
