Default Engine and Coolant problem!

I was driving and hard a pop. Now there is coolant and steam comming from back of motor at firewall. i looked with mirror and it looked like it was coming from a port in the back of me intake manifold. what is this port and should it be pluged! if not please help ! sorry i have a 1996 jeep cherokee sport i6 Inline . also jeep still runs great and no water in oil.

Cool

Are you sure it's not a freeze out plug in the back of the head. I just replaced one last week, and boy was it a pita to do in the vehicle.!

sounds like you popped what would call a core plug . Are fitted in block and idea is they pop before block cracks in cold weather. They corrode in time and can pop out.
