Default New to Forum!!! and my jeep is pretty sucky...

Greetings to all on here! I am so glad I found this site, you guys and gals have truly been helping me understand this truck more in-depth than I thought I could. Especially since the owners manual disintegrated in my hands when I bought "her" and my Haynes manual got stolen when my jeep got stolen last june until mid-july last year. Gotta love Chicago... I'll eventually post some pics, but at least now I have no reason to fumble around lookin for the key. she starts with visegrips...
Anyway, this is my first jeep and I love her to death, but I have been having some issues since I got her back from the impound lot. Whoever had her had a REAL good time with her, and banged her up like a blind toddler was driving her too. And cleaned her interior out of all my stuff, they were great detailers.
So now here are the problems...

1. moaning sound when I start turning the wheels either way(left or right), really starts to wail bad while running. They stole the power steering cap??? Why idk??? and what is happening here???
2. I have no idea how to explain it, but while the engine is idling there is a "electrical sounding click" like a spark sound, coming from the front of the engine.??? what does that means and is it expensive to fix?
3. this thing is oil leaking from the front now somehow, it gets on the Alt then spits up onto the hood (not a lot though)...I had the mechanic where I bought her re-do the gasket twice already.
4.they used it for "off-roading" in the city... worried about the whole suspension now. (Thanks to y'all on here I can deal with that issue)
5.the usual gas mileage problem, she eats it faster that they can raise the price of gas.
6.Weird sucking noise coming from bottom of engine, vacuum leak? but from where its comin, hard to tell.

BTW- I gave her a tune-up before she got stolen (cap,rotor,s.p. wires, spark plugs, air filter, oil change, trans fluid change.. forgot to do the fuel filter though)

That's all for now, if I find more problems I'll be asking here first, it just seems like a lot to me, and I really don't want to get rid of this truck, I like it more than my F-150. I am not a mechanic but know my way around with a wrench, if y'all got some info to how to fix some of these problems I'll be truly grateful.
Thank you in advance. O wise ones.

1. Sounds like the power steering pump is going out. Did you get a new cap for it or are you letting it ride free?

2. Sounds like your electrical fan clicking on.

3. What gasket have you replaced twice? Can you see any oil leaks near the front of the valve cover?

4. No question on this one

5. Was the milage better before it got stolen?

6. could be the fan as well but im not sure on this one.

Hey Thanks for the fast reply, I'm gonna go check it out in my buddies garage today to take a better look so....

for the ?'s
1. i thought thats what it meant sounding like that. i guess its been sort of riding free. i doubled up a couple grocery bags around the fill hole, and secured them with HD rubber bands, until i get to a junkyard.

2.didn't think I had an electrical fan? looks like further inspection is needed here today.

3. yeah they replaced the rocker cover gasket because it really would leak pretty bad when parked. but it looks like its coming out from below that at another seam and collecting in the little pockets next to the hose connections.

5.don't remember exact numbers but figured they had it for about 50 miles before abandoning it and taking everything inside it.

6. I'm bringing the floor jack with me now because you got me anxious to really get dirty today and see if there is a unconnected "somethin" under there.

Thanks Blank!!!
I'll take some pics of this she-beast once I get under there and start tinkering around a bit.

Sounds like you may just need to replace the power steering pump and pressure line. You can get that for about $100 total at any auto parts store.

You should have both a mechanical and electrical fan. The electric fan should be on the drivers side of the radiator close to the air filter box. If you pop the hood you should be able to at least see the top of if.

My guess on the oil leak would be the oil pan gasket maybe but its hard to tell without pictures.

Was your gas milage better for the theft is what I meant, sorry, I should have worded that different.

Yep the ticking is from the elec.fan, why is it doing that? is that its way of telling me there is a bigger problem?
And it looks as though the leaks are coming from around where the hoses connect into the front of the engine...???... can't really be sure just yet, i'm about to degrease the whole area have it dry, then check it out.
also while rolling around on the ground, i see behind the front passenger wheel there is a two-holed connection piece dangling with a quite a few wires on it, and some sort of hard plastic tube that has been cut at the tip at an angle... again....???...Is this thing why my cruise control doesn't work? I'll take some pics tomorrow after I get back from the VA hospital and learn how to post them up.
I don't know if these two things are supposed to be put together or what goes where, or if a piece is missing. I apologize for sounding so ignorant to technical terms of the parts I'm so horribly describing...but the more I get under this truck, the more I want to know!
The power steering was just really low on fluid, once I popped the bags back off, I got to see it more clearly, hence the noise disappeared. Didn't think it would make eerie noises if it was low on fluid though.

Thanks for the help, I'll keep grinding more off you just tell me when to stop.

Those hard plastic lines are what actuate your front axle to put it in 4x4. There should be a green one, white one, and one other light color (Yellow I think) that plug into that thing that you can see in the back of the first picture with 4 bolts on your axle.

Ohhhhhh.... ok will do. I tried it in 4H mode today and it seemed no different than 2H...that must be why.
Banks ----Thank you very much! I'll get back under there today, if it doesn't rain soon and get a little dirty.
