Default electronic throttle control

just bought got a 2006 cherokee 2.8 crd . e,c,t warning light is flashing. sometimes goes off after a run and i restart it . anybody got any ideas .

European market? If so, then you don't have an actual "Cherokee" (even if it's called that,) you have the export version of the "Liberty" - which is marked internally as a "KJ" instead of an "XJ".

You may try posting under Liberty tech instead - or finding a Liberty forum - but the 2.8L CRD is uncommon here - and is, I believe, primarily an engine used in the European market. (We've been trying to get the CRD to be more common over here, but without much luck.)

It's the "2006 Cherokee" and "CRD engine" that tell me you're probably in Europe... I didn't know that was a "drive-by-wire" setup, tho.
