You can start by telling us what year, body (XJ), engine, transmission, TC, etc. you have.

By looking at your problem it looks like you have 1965 Nash Rambler.

Does the horn come on steady or does it sound inermittantly like when you press 'Panic' on your Key Fob? In either case, the Remote Keyless Entry system may be (?) shorted to the courtesy lamp circuit.

The horn circuit goes through an Overhead Module which contains the receiver for the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system and contains the circuit for the overhead courtesy lamp. The Overhead Module will be inside the coutesy lamp assembly. You'll have to remove the courtesy lamp from the headliner, or overhead console (if you have one), and detach the electrical connector from the Overhead module then see if the horn still blows when you open the driver's door.

The horn circuit in the Overhead Module is wired in parallel with the steering wheel horn switch circuit so if disconnecting the Overhead Module does not stop the horn from sounding, the problem lies elsewhere.

FYI:

Here's a schematic of the CCD Data Bus. Note that the Remote Keyless Entry Module is connected to the CCD Data Bus. Any Module shown in this shematic will corrupt the CCD Data Bus and cause problems that you are having.

Default RKE Access

Oh ye of little faith...

Here's a pictorial on how to access the RKE Module.

Mini Dome Lght:

Removing the dome light lense. Use a straight slot screw driver and insert it into the two slots in the forward end of the lense and carefully pry it loose.

Remove the mini dome light assembly. Remove the two black screws and unhook the dome light assembly and let it hang.

Remove the battery negative terminal cable.

The Remote Keyless Entry Module (Printed Circuit Board) can be seen in this image. Detach the electrical connector from the RKEM. Reatach the battery negtive cable and turn the ignition switch to RUN (not cranking) and see if some of the problems are cleared. If this doesn't help, you're in a world of hurt mate. LOL

Has any body solved that issue? I disconnected the RKE module and the problem still there but my cluster guages are working well and the light switch doesn't operate the cluster back light except with certain position between on and off ( it needs to be replaced) do you think the light switch may have caused this problem?
