Electrical Issue: Turn Signal/Hazards & Volt Guage
Turn Signals & Hazards:
Both work for a minute of so, and then stay solid (no blinking). So, if I'm at a long light, about to make a turn, they get stuck on both sides after a minute or so. Volt Guage: Starts fine, however, at random, the guage drops back to nothing, and the idiot light comes on telling me to check guages. Any suggestions are appreciated. |
Have you checked your charging system voltage while idling and the blinkers on?

It sounds like your not getting enough power threw out the car. Check battery and alternator. Easy and quick way to check a battery is to just do a quick voltage drop test on the battery posts. A good batter should read (if I remember correctly) 12.6V.

On my 96, it would do it on the interior, but I have no idea what it did on the exterior when that was happening. For my own piece of mind I replaced all my exterior lights and in the process of doing that, it fixed the other problem. I'm guess you have an exterior light or two that are busted, or dim or something like that. Otherwise, I'd say the flasher has gone out. All cheap and simple to fix.
BTW, mine did it without the gauge thing you mentioned too. Not sure if this solution would help or not. Sorry. |
