EGR transducer help?

Hey all, working on an '88 XJ 4.0 I just picked up. I'm in CA so I have to pass smog... while driving, my EGR transducer popped a vacuum leak and ended up just melting down entirely?

First, does anyone have a lead on where to get one of these? I've tried facebook, local junkyards, car-part, that youtube guy with like 900 cherokees, nobody can find me one...
Secondly, has anyone seen this failure occur before? I checked around and can't find anything near the transducer that would have caused a meltdown like that. Don't want it to happen again lmao

Read down towards the end of this thread. I think this guy found some alternate applications that have compatible parts that can swap in to the 4.0 EGR.

Check the big Jeep forum with a "Want to Buy" ad, that's your best shot for that part.
They melt when the EGR valve is stuck shut. The transducer strains until it burns up. You must clean or replace the EGR valve before installing a new transducer or it'll happen again.

Thank you for the reply! That was a good read, however, the alternate part that he used is also NLA on rockauto, so I'm back to the hunt for a used part...

Thanks! I plan on posting up a WTB ad here, but I don't have enough posts yet to be eligible to post there, so in the meantime I'll be troweling through marketplace and craigslist looking for a partout lol

Maybe send Dex an email? I would guess out of 1200 jeeps he should have at least one good used one.

I actually did reach out to him the morning after my transducer had a nuclear meltdown, left my
email and number and explained what I was looking for. Haven't heard from him so I take that as he doesn't have one...
