e fan switch?
I know its beating a dead horse, and I searched here and other forums and I cant find the info i need.
How do you wire a switch to the e fan relay to override the circuit and turn on any time, AND keep the relay circuit functioning normally (come on when the a/c is on and when temp gets to 215-220)? |
anyone?

You can simply attach a wire in-line with a inline fuse, and switch which connects to a keyed or non-keyed power source. Also on the 2000-01 xj's the e-fan only comes on with the temp, not the a/c. Unless you have the dealer flash the ECU for the fan to also come on with the a/c.

I would use a SPDT switch, one position to the relay for normal operation, the other to the fan for on demand. I would use a separate relay for on demand so your switch isn't carrying the load.

413maxwedge, Can you elaborate on keyed or non keyed power source? I should also tell you im upgrading the fan to a 1325 cfm unit that will be pulling 17 amps. |
I'm not 413, but a keyed power source is something that receives power when the key is on ie radio, power windows, non keyed is something that has power all the time like your head lights.
