dummy light oil pressure

i just recently had my oil changed at a local dealer, and im noticing this problem now, however its possible it was a prior problem as ive only had the truck for a short while.

anyway, the gauge is reading below midway on decel and at idle, but holds at the middle under load, sometimes even "10 psi" above the middle. the motor is not making any noise, the truck has no drive ability issues, just a dummy light acting erratically. suggestions to fix this problem? im not doing any serious damage by driving it am i? i figured it would be pretty obvious if the pump went bad, or something related?

oh, and its a 98 4x4 I6 with 120,xxx on the clock

At idle on a new engine the oil pressure is 13psi above 1600 rpm its from 37 to 75psi being you have a few miles nock of 7 to 10 psi

So.. do you have gauges or dummy lights? Have you checked your oil pressure with a gauge? Have you tested the oil sending unit?

That is normal, your gauge works fine and therefore also the sending unit.
If you want a little more pressure at idle change oil with a 20 W50 next time.
