Dropped AW4 out of 89. What gaskets and fittings will I need?
So after my little adventure in grinding sounds, I'm down to pulling the transmission out to see if I can figure out where the noise is coming from and fix it.
I've done a bit of driveway wrenching, but never removed and reinstalled a transmission of any sort. So looking for advice on exactly what gaskets and fittings I must or should be planning to replace (besides the E12 reverse Torx bolts)
Reading this thread I'm thinking it might just be the input / torque converter seal.

, looks like there may be a couple of driveshaft bits too, but I'm not clear if those are optional.
So any AW4-pulling veteran advice would be appreciated

There really aren't any consumables to replace just pulling the transmission unless you snap something or find a leak somewhere. Bolts are all reuseable. If you spot a leak then it would make sense to change seals unless you just want to do it as PM. It isn't mandatory.
