Default Drivers Door Change

I have an 89 Cherokee with a manual drivers door. I am looking to replace it and have only been able to find an electric door in the color that I need. My question is can I wire this door so that the windows will work or am I going to have to swap out the mechanisms? Thanks!

i dont know for sure but under the drivers side kick panel there should be an un used elec connector for pw pdl and whatnot. if jeep did it like others they only made one harness and just left that plug there since you have crank windows......might be able to plug it in.....could be that easy or you will have to get the wiring diagram and wire it up. your jeep didnt have to come with power to upgrade it!!!!

p.s. make sure the pw pdl fuse is in place or it will never work!!(only if there is a factory plug)

if not, you can just run a wire to the battery with an inline fuse.

i did that with my power seats, and all worked well, till i sank it. haha.

you just have to find the wires for the drivers door, cause it should have enough wires in the harness to run all the doors.

and i don't believe the fuse panel is the same as one with power options, so you may not have the harness or fuse provision for that matter.

The wiring will be in the kick panel. You may have to install a few new fuses to get them to work but that would simply be a matter of plugging them into the fuse panel. Or you can transfer the window crank mechanism and keep your manual window then sell the electric window motor and switches.

The door has all of the electrical in it. If everything still works it is just a matter of finding which wire operates the window. Hopefully my Haynes manual will have a diagram in it for power door circuit. Thanks for the help!
