Default driveline vibs

my buddy just did a 3" lift on his 97 with the 4.0 auto 231 and dana 35 rear what could he do with out spending alot of money and if he needs to shim what degree do you all think he needs? and how far is 2 far on a t case drop?

Do a search on transfer case drop. You can get all the parts for this mod at your local hardware store.

dont drop it more then an inch with 3" thats all you need plus if you drop it more you just undid all your lift and ground clearance

he had another buddy do the tcase drop and now he only gets minor vibes do you think we should shim the rear axle? and is that something a shop needs to do and can it be done with basic tools?

it can be done with basic tools and but check and make sure all your u joints are good and thers no slopp in the output shafts on the x case and check the cv joint for slop the centering ball in center if worn will cause vibration too. and you only need a 1 inch drop for a three inch lift as jd4x426 said. the prefered method for vib problems in rear is SYE kit if you can scrape up that kind of money
