driveline help

So quick question I just did u joints in my front drive line that has a knuckel. And now its clicking really bad did I do something wrong thay is fixable or did I ruin it? Every thing
is smooth but makes noise

Which joint did you change? The drive shaft joint? Knuckel?

You make no sense.

Could have dropped a needle bearing... they click when you do that.

Sorry so I changed every ujoint in the whole jeep. But the only ones giving me problems is the ones at the knuckel in the front drive line. And idk what I did wrong or if its broke

May have put it in backwards as in the ujoint. My thought is the grease valve may be hitting the knuckle when it rotates. But this is just a guess. Honestly I would take the front drive shaft out and see if the noise goes away. If it does I'd probably pull the joints to see if any needles had fallen out while installing them. Hopefully you have a press to make this quick and easy. That's just my two cents and what I would do to try and solve the issue. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

the u joints are not greaseable and it still makes the noise when i take it out

Well if it still makes the sound when you take out the front drive line then it can't be the front driveline causing the noise issue you are hearing.

Are you asking about the front axle u joints or the the front drive shaft u joints at the CV joint?

kissthis66 11-02-2012 11:37 AM

Do the opposite, take out the rear drive shaft and drive around the block with only the front in. Use like a rubber glove or something if you don't have a sye to stop tranny/xcase fluid from running out.

My thoughts now are thinkin possible wheel hub...

jeep801 11-03-2012 03:07 AM

Its in the drive line I took it,off and it still clixk when I move the drive line around

The drive line consists of the engine, transmission, transfer case, Drive shafts, and the axles.
I think you are saying that your front drive shaft is making a noise and that it is coming from the cardan joint area. If this is true there are two u joints and the ball and socket that make up the cardan joint, find out what is bad and replace it.
Pretty basic.
