drive shaft question

i have a 95 xj and i want to change the u joints in the rear drive shaft ...once i take off the 2 nuts on the rear joint does the drive shaft just pull out by hand from the transfer case or are there bolts i need to remove ? thanks

I have a 98 when I put new driveshaft in had 2 C clips in rear & u-joints on end towards t-case

Sorry they had clips to remove them

just pulls out. get a bucket due to possible loss of fluid

To change u-joints though you'll still need to remove those clips like a heavy gauge spring that locks into place so u-joints can't move up & down or in & out.

x2 just pulls out of 95- xjs. I lost fluid on mine when i did it, and I replaced it with fresh stuff, but it may have been overfull, don't actually know how much should actually be in there.
