Double Whammy Question - Heat Soak and License Plate Screws
Hey guys,
My car has the rough idle down here in Florida, heat soak issue, looking for that metal insulation plate (apparently it's just a few bucks), can't find the link on here!!
Also, I need new license plate screws (plus that little plastic piece in-between the screw and body (see pic)...any link to those too??
Thanks again as always,
XJM

I had the same issue trying to find the heat/debris shield. I've got a 2000 that has the heat soak issue so I bought this http://www.quadratec.com/products/17604_1031.htm that came with that shield as well as insulation sleeves for the injectors and rail. It also comes with new o rings for the injectors. While I had them out I thoroughly cleaned the injectors (flushed and backflushed).
As for the license plate screws and threaded clip you can pick them up an any auto store http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...+%26+fasteners.

Walmart has the license plate inserts and screws also. Even the fancy "Tamper Proof" screws with the special allen wrench to install. Chrome, black, pink or Hello Kitty. Whatever style is your thing. About 3 bux usually.

Go to amazon to buy that kit. Cheaper.

If you need just need the manifold heat shield part # CBXCB060. My Jeep dealership had it in stock and cost me $2.20 not including tax.

make sure your cooling system is in good shape. Clutch fan working properly, coolant changed per scheduled intervals, and other fluids, including transmission fluid. it doesn't take much to make the heat soak an issue.

I solved my hot weather heat soak issue once and for all by:
1. Installed the manifold heat shield kit from Jeep
2. Wired up an 'on demand' delay circuit to keep the auxiliary electric fan running for 4 to 5 minutes after shutting the engine off. Works great too at slow fast food drive up windows when the coolant temp climbs. Can cut it off at the pass! lol.
