I did the NP203 / Dana 300 doubler setup.

I chose the kit from Jed's ... was almost 600 bucks.

But the NP203 and D300 were super cheap for me .... so it worked out well.

Fits very well ... just a tiny bit of sheetmetal cutting. Doesn't affect the seats or anything. You'll need to make a double crossmember (because of the weight).

Because it's nice to have the additional control for the super rough stuff ... and normal low range when you're with lessor equipped vehicles.

Like I said .... because then you're ALWAYS going super slow. There are times when you need a bit of wheel speed. And you can't do that with a 4:1 .... technically, Tera doesn't want you to use 4th or 5th gear at all (if you have a stick) and to keep the RPMs low in 3rd gear.

You don't have to 4x that hard to need a low ratio. I prefer the low ratios for the control so that you can pick your lines with time to spare (in theory, at least). Handy when you're running smaller tires then everyone else around you.

Who? Advance?

They still make the Ranger unit.

Strange Engineering / Gear Vendors makes an Over-Underdrive. But it is after the transmission or transfer case (so it's only good in 2wd).

I don't recall Advance ever marketing something like that for the newer transmissions.

Mainly for the older HD 4 speeds (like the T18).
