too lazy to look? Get your brother to put them in, he will need 5 1/4", will fit right in and feed with the stock wiring, get some pioneer 2 way, good quality and price, i put some plastic cup type water shields in 1st, could use some heavy plastic bag even, helps with the water that will leak past your XJ worn out window lip seals, pass the info on to your brother.

Hey Matt
I picked up some 5 1/4" Sony Xplod speakers from Walmart the other day for about $20.00 Pr. They sound really good and are a simple install.

Hey Matt, sorry about the brother!
A jerk wouldn't have suggest the size of speaker, a good reasonably priced speaker brand, the use of existing wiring, or plastic shields to protect your investment. By the way get off your *** and go checkout your own damned speakers.
Oh by the way, your not the only one to have lost family to f'n war.

I am suprised the moderators allow this crap. If a guy comes down with a terminal illness and will leave his family without a husband/father, suck it up. you are not the only one?
If someone looses a family member to a car accident, or other means, you should keep your chin up because you are not the only one?
I have a great idea peep. Take a couple of shots of burbon and get it up to 60mph. Then drive into a tree.

I hope you take that as constructive criticism. if you have a question, ask it...or search, if you think it's an easy one to find the answer for. but please don't come on here posting something like your first post, and not expect to get mildly ribbed for it.
I'm sure Peep wasn't aware of the situation with your brother, may he R.I.P., and was just giving you a hard time.
Thank you and your family, especially your brother, for your sacrafice for this country.

Back to the topic.....I just put some 6-1/2" Kenwood Excelsion's in my son's 2000 XJ this weekend. We took the door panel off, cut the "fins" out of the door panel, put the panel back in place, drilled 4 holes, and screwed the new speaker in place. We put the Kenwood speaker grill in place and it looks and sounds great! My son has the factory rear sound bar. We replaced those 5-1/4" speakers with the same ones up front. Unlike the door speakers, these installed so much easier. We were even able to use the original factory (Jeep) speaker covers once the Kenwood speakers were installed.
