Door lovks wont work
My door locks will not work on the door lock switches. I have to lock them manually.
There is a clicking noise each time I hit the button but nothing happens.... I used to have a remote to my jeep and it made the locks lock and unlock, each one of them. So it has to do withy he door lock switch. Any suggestions?? Also my windows don't work what so ever other than the drivers side panel. Thanks! |
Can a mod please correct my title for me? Thanks!

Have you tried unlocking them from the passenger control ?

What year is it?

Yes. It's a 99.
It's all good! I fixed them! I took both the control panels out in the front, took them apart and cleaned the connections! Now my windows and locks work! But my drivers side door must have a frayed wire somewhere.... Cuz it still doesn't lock..... Doesn't even try too... But the actuator works. Just isnt getting power.. |

Funny you posted this.... I have to do the same thing this weekend to my 99 Cherokee!

The solder joints on the PCBs break over time (stress of the switches being used I suppose) which causes some switches to become inoperable. The most common failure seems to be the window lock button. I just got done opening mine up and re-flowing the solder joints and cleaning up the switch contacts. If you don't mind small parts work it's not too bad.

My passenger side door lock doesn't work when I press the driver's electrical door lock master switch. What does this usually mean?

You're saying I need a new driver's side electrical switch? This doesn't make sense. Just to be clear, the manual passenger side door lock works fine when you manually push the "lock" button. However, when I press the driver's side "Lock doors" electrical switch, all doors lock/unlock except passenger front. It seems the electrical connection is dead in the passenger side. Do I need to fix a busted wire inside the passenger door? Or are you saying I need to replace the entire driver's side control panel? B/c the unlock door switch works for the 3 other doors.

Some kid even made a video! |
What I did was simply sand down all the contact points and remove the very slight corrosion.
Took me a couple hours. I was so afraid I was gonna break the little switches trying to pop them off.... But the solder connections looked good on mine, there was just some corrosion. Check this link out: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/ho...-switch-86322/ Guy did a full write up! |
Well did it fix it?
And don't bother with new wiper blades, this won't fix the problem |

I'd suggest replacing the wiper blades. That should fix your problem.
