Door Jamb Switch Wiring Access
Well, I did it.
My interior light is not coming on when I open my drivers door.
So, I put a socket on the hex head of the jamb switch, unscrewed it and pulled it out. It separated from the wiring.
How can I get it plugged back in?
I realize now that those little switches are self-adjusting and mine was just frozen up.
Anxiety over pulling the dash apart is kicking in.
Dontcha just love how these little 10 minute project turn into 3-4 hours?
Ah, the joys of jeepmanship.

You may be able to get to it by just removing the kick panel or you can try to fish it out with a wire hanger. I had to fish mine out on my 65 Chevy P/U. It takes time but it can be done with a little patience.

Well, I think the switch is actually ok....now that I cleaned it up.
Getting to the wiring is the problem. I guess I'll try to fish it out with some wire.

I'd just leave it out. I removed mine for when i go doorless. It's been 2 months since the last time i've had the doors off, and i dont miss them. Haven't thought once about putting them back in.
