Does anyone have this on their XJ?

I've always wondered if this vehicle/starter immobilized was from the factory or the aftermarket.

Has anyone seen what is pictured on a jeep?

Not on my Jeep, but there was one on a Nissan 300zx I had before. It's aftermarket. Pull the little thing out and it won't start, might slow down a pro and could completely discourage a noob thief causing him to walk down to the next vehicle.

Thats a good idea,but a bad location.

I would think the first thing a thief would do is look under the dash, but it would deter amateur thieves.

Im doing this though, and having a key chain for the fuse while having hidden fuses in the jeep.

That is not stock, and totally pointless. Even a newbie carjacker could defeat that if they looked there. Would take a whole 30 seconds to cross the wires in it and render it useless.

Doubt it.

I dated a gal that had a factory one of those on her cherokee. She loved to brag about how it could not be defeated. Until one day when I was sick and needed to use her car but didnt have the special key. Juicy fruit wrapper to the rescue, folded it up, shoved it in, and away I went.

I miss that jeep

But thieves don't chew juicy fruit, they're more into BigRed.

I'm guessing that wasn't an XJ?

Yeah true. Maybe I'll relocate it somewhere better. I don't ever pull it out, unless I'll be gone for more than a week.

True, I think so too.
