Do I have to lower my crossmember in order to drop the AW4 oil pan? I just need to get in there to check the solenoids and replace the screen and whatnot, but I'm not real interested in having to take off the crossmember. Does anyone have any tricks to getting that pan out of there?

No messy with cross member on a 4X2, not sure about 4X4. Our dip stick tube was a PITA, couldn't get it to separate. It'll be a piece of cake the next time.......small tubing cutter, 1/2" rubber EFI hose and clamps.

Nice trick. I may employ that when I change my trans fluid next week. I'm curious as to what components need to be removed before the pan can be dropped as well, though.

You should be able to clear the crossmember just fine, but expect the exhuast to be in the way.
