What is the diffrence between a 1988 cherokee chief and a normall 1988 cherokee. I have a chief and have not found the anser online.

It is nothing more than the trim level of the Cherokee. The base model was exactly that, a base model with no options. Each trim level above that offered different packages that could include pwr windows, pwr door locks, cruise control, pwr seats, rear defrost , etc etc. The customer could also order individual options for their vehicle or delete certain options from each package.

Mainly just appearance stuff (black exterior trim with "Chief" stickers and hood stripes), and some interior options. It was pretty much a sportier looking XJ compared to the other trim levels.
