i need your advice .. i have 2001 xj with limited slip differential ,however it is now making high noise and as i installed OME suspension with 3 inc lift and 265/75 R15 tires ,i was thinking to change the ring and pinion set ..now i have 2 choices either to get the stock OM replacement or to get other after market replacment with higher ratio .. what is the stock ratio and what would you advice regarding the replacement kind and ratio ?? thanks

Just make sure if you change the rear ratio, you change the front as well.

Depends what transmission you have.

If you have an auto tranny, your gear ratio is 3.55.
If you have a manual tranny, your gear ratio is 3.07.

First, you want to be certain that that's where the sound is coming from. If it is, you definitely should regear with a higher ratio as opposed to putting in new stock gears
