different size heater core?

Default different size heater core?

the larger heater core one is the new one. It fits in the box. is it ok to use although bigger?

I've never had the 'pleasure' of changing mine so I don't know what it looks like in there, but if it fits and doesn't cause any clearance problem with any vent doors in there (if any) I'd do it.

Im just guessing, but it looks like you bought the wrong one. And it shouldn't fit correctly either, the heat box has a specific location for it with groves for it to fit in to. I don't know how that fits your heater box correctly (just because you can MAKE it fit doesn't mean that's correct).

Ive done 3 heater cores (one in my 99XJ, cousins 96XJ and one in a buddies Ford Truck) and none were EVER a different size. Personally, I wouldn't use it unless you bought it from the factory and they told you for sure you could, but even then Id be leery.
