so i was in some mud yesterday and my back axle was completly submerged for somethiing like 5 minutes, I know there are vents on the diffs.... can water get in there?? do i have to change oil everytime i get into some water?!

Thanks guys

I do if it gets over the breather tube for a good amount of time..

moby 10-03-2008 11:16 AM

how high do the breather tubes go?

GrantMLS 10-03-2008 11:21 AM

someplace on the body... think high part of the wheel well in the back and up towards the radiator in the front.

On the front, it goes to the top of the firewall.
Look behind your brake booster. You should see s large rubber hose coming UP to a white/cream "plug"...thats your breather.

As for the rear, I do know it routes into the unibody framerail, where it goes from there :dunno:

Im doing something similar to this. Going to use small breathers instead of fuel filters.

awesome, so the front vents above the firewall, where does the rear vent?!?

Does the aw4 have a breather of some sort? please say yes!!! My 3 spd in my TJ did not and we had to drill and make one. that was a PITA but worthy mod.

It has one
