Dieing at stop lights

Default Dieing at stop lights

Hello I'm a long time non-member lurker who recently purchased an extremely clean 96 Sport 4.0 5spd. Today on my commute home from work I pulled to a stop light, Depressed the clutch and put the Trans into first while I waited for the light. My transmission engaged 1st the engine bogged and I was not able to remove the shift **** from 1st forcing me to allow the vehicle to die. I let off the clutch, depressed it again and was able to drive normally. I was able to replicate this at home in the drive way as well. What do you guys and gals think is the issue? My immediate thought is slave cylinder or bad line and my biggest fear is a clutch assembly.

Start simple and make sure it has clutch fluid (Dot3 brake fluid is the same stuff)

Thank you. Any good first places to look for a leak if fluid is low?

I'd check the slave cylinder first for leaks.

I will make sure to take a look. Do any of you recommend a replacement part for it should it need replaced? Any one better than the other?
