I have a 89, and installed a 5.5 Re lift. Springs and leaf packs. Now it is about 2 inches higher in the rear. Anyone done one before and got the same result? Hopefully the leafs will settle.

RE leaf springs are very stiff. get out and flex em a little to break them in or put a bunch of weight in the back.

re 5.5 lift uses a 4.5 inch rear leaf with a 1 inch shackle.

what part number is on the leaf pack? RE1462 is for the 4.5 inch and RE1461 is the 5.5 inch leafs.
it's possible they sent you 1461 leafs in the kit, so with the supplied shackle, you'll be higher in the back.

Did you sit it back on the ground under full weight before you finished tightening the shackles. it has to be on it's full weight before you snug them up the rest of the way or they will hold the back end up some

That is true I did that on my YJ and that I got a deal on my lift a month later I had two broken bolts and one bushing was already shot!

when i did my 3.5" RE originally I endup up with a 2" spacer up front and that really evened things out, my rear springs flex rather well and ended up with almost 6" in the front

there lifts sit higher in the rear it will settle in a few weeks but it will still look a little higher in the front you could use a spacer maybe one inch to level it out

Yeah on my RE 3.5 I had to add a 3/4" spacer up front and after the rear settles it was pretty even..Also it takes some time before the rear leafs will settle..They are some stiff suckers.
